Celine Dion’s management team and record label, Sony Music Canada, stated that the use of her hit song “My Heart Will Go On” at a Donald Trump campaign rally in Montana was unauthorized. The video of Dion performing the song was broadcast at the rally, and her team stated that she does not endorse this use. The power ballad was the theme song for the 1997 film “Titanic.” Dion is not the first musician to reject the Trump campaign’s use of their music, with The Rolling Stones, Rihanna, Neil Young, Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler, Everlast, and Adele all criticizing Trump for using their songs at rallies in the past. Trump’s campaign has faced backlash from multiple musicians for using their music without permission. Dion’s team made it clear that she does not support or endorse the Trump campaign’s use of her music, particularly for a rally of that nature.
