Idaho State Police are currently investigating a tragic two-vehicle fatality crash that took place on Saturday evening in Bonner County near Blanchard. The incident occurred on State Highway 41 when a 50-year-old male driver of a Toyota pickup attempted to pass a slow-moving vehicle while heading southbound. At the same time, a minor was traveling northbound on a Yamaha dirt bike without headlights. The Toyota collided with the dirt bike, resulting in the tragic deaths of both drivers. The Toyota driver was not wearing a seatbelt and passed away at the scene, along with the dirt bike driver.
The crash caused State Highway 41 to be blocked for around 5 hours, causing traffic disruptions in the area. Next of kin has been notified for both individuals involved in the accident. The Idaho State Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash to determine the cause and any contributing factors.
