Changes to Parking and Entrances at Bannock County Courthouse During Renovations

The Bannock County Courthouse in Pocatello is set to undergo upgrades starting Wednesday. These upgrades include adding an extended ADA entrance, an ADA ramp to the front of the Elections building, and a covered gazebo. Additionally, North 6th Avenue between East Clark and Center Streets will become a one-way street with diagonal parking to provide more parking for patrons and improve pedestrian safety. Commissioner Ernie Moser expressed the necessity of these upgrades, highlighting the benefits it will bring to patrons entering the courthouse and the safety improvements for pedestrians.

During construction, sidewalks on North 6th Avenue will be closed, and vin inspections at the Bannock County DMV will temporarily move to different locations based on the size of the vehicles. Voters will also need to follow directional signage and enter the Elections Office through the west entrance of the parking lot during the upcoming election, as the North 6th Avenue entrance will be under construction. If ADA access is needed, patrons can use the elevator entrance in the northwest parking lot and call 208-236-7499 for assistance.

Despite the temporary inconveniences, Moser expressed appreciation for the public’s understanding and patience during construction. The renovations are expected to improve patrons’ experiences once completed. For updates on construction, residents are encouraged to visit the Bannock County Facebook page.
