The Madison County Fair in Rexburg kicked off with a bang, and the judges at EastIdahoNews.com had the tough job of sampling and rating the best food offerings. After trying a variety of entrees, drinks, and desserts, three items stood out as the favorites for 2024. The judges, Nate Eaton, Isabella Sosa-Salazar, Kaitlyn Hart, and Jordan Wood, rated items based on taste, visual presentation, and creativity.
The winning entree was the Tacos Asada from Sonora Style, praised for its tender and well-seasoned meat, buttery tortilla, and flavorful homemade hot sauces. The drink winner was the Strawberry Horchata from El Camaron, described as creamy, sweet, and fresh with a hint of strawberry. The dessert winner was the Strawberry Falls from Chocolate Plunge, featuring fresh strawberries covered in chocolate, topped with cookies, toffee, and caramel.
The judges expressed their appreciation to all the vendors for allowing them to taste and rate the delicious food at the fair.
