Idaho Falls Man Arrested for Fentanyl Trafficking After Car Crash
A 21-year-old Idaho Falls man, Jesus Camacho Ramirez, was arrested in Blackfoot on charges of felony fentanyl trafficking, felony possession of a controlled substance, and felony enhancement for being a persistent violator. The arrest came after police responded to a car crash and found evidence that Camacho Ramirez was trying to traffic fentanyl.
During the investigation, officers found a stolen firearm in the car Camacho Ramirez was in, along with a large quantity of fentanyl pills. Camacho Ramirez claimed the pants he was wearing were not his, and officers also found methamphetamine in his possession.
Camacho Ramirez was taken to the Bingham County Jail on a $150,000 bond and is expected to appear for a preliminary hearing on August 22. If convicted, he could face up to life in prison. It is important to note that being charged with these crimes does not necessarily mean he committed them, as everyone is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
