Police in Germany are searching for a suspect after three people were killed in a mass stabbing at a festival in Solingen.

Police in Germany are searching for a suspect behind a mass stabbing during a festival in Solingen that left three dead and eight injured on Friday night. The attack took place at a celebration marking the city’s 650th anniversary, with thousands in attendance. The assailant, who fled the scene, has not been caught, and authorities are still investigating a motive.

Witnesses described the chaotic scene, with people lying on the ground and pools of blood after the attack near a stage with live music. Several victims were seriously injured, and emergency services are working to save lives. Politicians and officials expressed shock, sadness, and solidarity with the victims and their families.

The festival, which was supposed to run through Sunday, was cancelled, and authorities urged people to leave the area. Many are in a state of shock, and police have set up a website for information and video footage related to the incident. The attack adds to the ongoing debate about knife violence in German cities, following a similar incident in Mannheim in May.

The city of Solingen, with its 160,000 inhabitants, is in mourning as its residents cope with the aftermath of the tragic event. Mayor Tim-Oliver Kurzbach expressed his grief and called for support for those affected by the attack. As the search for the suspect continues, the community is coming together to offer prayers and hope for the recovery of the victims.
