Ukraine’s military has targeted and destroyed pontoon bridges and engineering equipment in the Kursk region using U.S.-manufactured high-mobility artillery rocket systems (HIMARS) in its offensive. These bridges are temporary structures built to maintain critical supply lines. Videos of these strikes have been shared, possibly to project confidence and unsettle Russia. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized the need to create problems for the Russian state on its own territory to drive out the occupier. Additionally, a diesel depot in Russia’s Rostov region, bordering Ukraine, has been ablaze for days after being hit by Ukrainian drones. The depot stored oil products used to supply the Russian army. Satellite images show flames and black smoke billowing from the depot, with the fire still burning on Thursday. The abundance of these incidents could signify increasing challenges for the Kremlin as Ukraine escalates its offensive tactics.
