The University of Idaho volleyball program and interim head coach Romana Redondo Kriskova have announced the addition of assistant coach Ben Kasun. Kasun joins the Vandal staff after successful coaching stints at Saint Francis University, Penn State Behrend, and Barton College. His D1 playing experience, coaching skills, and volleyball knowledge are expected to be a great asset to the program.
Kasun’s previous coaching roles have seen him lead teams to winning records, conference tournament championships, and NCAA tournament appearances. He also has professional playing experience as a founding member of the Steel City Surge in the Men’s Professional Volleyball League.
As a player, Kasun excelled as a setter and libero at Barton College, earning All-Conference and All-Academic honors. He was instrumental in leading the Bulldogs to NCAA tournament appearances and a conference title. Kasun holds a bachelor’s degree in sports management from Barton College and a master’s degree in business administration from Saint Francis University.
The Idaho volleyball team is gearing up for the upcoming 2024 season, with their first game scheduled for August 30 at the Alabama A&M Tournament in Huntsville. With Kasun’s addition to the coaching staff, the Vandals are looking to build on their success and compete at a high level in the upcoming season.
