The Pocatello Parks & Recreation Department is excited to announce the grand opening of the Con Gilmore Pickleball Courts in Lower Ross Park on Tuesday, August 27 at 10 a.m. The original opening was delayed due to rain causing damage to the paint, but the courts have been repainted for the new opening date. The courts are named after former Parks & Recreation Director Con Gilmore, who played a significant role in the city’s parks system. The five ADA-accessible courts feature plexi-cushion acrylic surfacing and LED lighting with play available immediately following the grand opening. A rotational system will be in place for patrons to take turns on the courts during peak hours, with court hours from sunrise to one hour after dusk and the lights turning off at 10 p.m. This new addition to Lower Ross Park will provide a fun and accessible recreational opportunity for residents and visitors.
