CapEd Kids Day at the Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic is set to take place today at Ann Morrison Park. Sponsored by CapEd Credit Union, children in the Treasure Valley will have the opportunity to enjoy free tethered balloon rides. The balloons are scheduled to inflate around 7:40 a.m., with pilots taking the children several feet in the air for a unique experience. CBS2 will be providing live footage with a drone capturing the balloons as they inflate.
For Laurie Spencer, co-founder of the Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic, Kids Day is the highlight of the event. She looks forward to seeing the joy on the children’s faces and the excitement in their eyes as they take part in the balloon rides. “The most exciting part of Spirit of Boise for me is kids day. It’s because it is for the kids. The smiles on their faces when they are done and the wow factor they have in their eyes. That’s what I really love is being able to do that,” Laurie said.
The event is a popular annual tradition that attracts families from all over the Treasure Valley. CapEd Kids Day provides a unique opportunity for children to experience the magic of hot air balloons up close. The Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic continues to be a beloved event in the community, bringing joy and wonder to both children and adults alike.
