The University of Idaho has announced Romana Redondo Krišková as the interim head coach of the Vandal volleyball program. Redondo Krišková, who was hired as an assistant coach in 2023, took over the program in March and has been instrumental in finalizing the fall schedule, managing practices, budget, and recruiting student-athletes.
Prior to joining Idaho, Redondo Krišková served as an assistant coach for French Club ASPTT and played professionally for six seasons in six different countries. She also spent 16 seasons on the Slovakian junior and senior national teams. Redondo Krišková played five seasons of NCAA Division I volleyball, starting at Virginia Commonwealth and transferring to Wisconsin, where she earned various accolades.
Idaho’s Director of Athletics, Terry Gawlik, praised Redondo Krišková for her work with the team and her determination to improve and build a winning culture. He expressed confidence in her decision-making abilities and her commitment to developing the Vandal volleyball program.
The Idaho volleyball team will kick off its season at the Alabama A&M tournament in Huntsville on August 30th. Fans and supporters of the Vandal volleyball program can expect to see Redondo Krišková lead the team with grace, stature, and resolve as they aim to excel in the upcoming season.
