TWIN FALLS, Idaho – The College of Southern Idaho (CSI) has announced that Daequon “DQ” Montreal has been chosen as the college’s next Athletic Director, starting on July 1. Montreal, currently serving as the Assistant Athletic Director, will take over from Joel Bate upon his retirement.
Montreal, a former CSI basketball standout and a professional player in Australia, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to lead the historic athletic program at CSI. President Dean Fisher praised Montreal’s selection, highlighting his readiness for the role and commitment to continuing the success of CSI Athletics.
Having been a student-athlete and alumni of CSI, Montreal aims to empower student-athletes academically and athletically while fostering strong community partnerships. His wife, Jamie, is a nursing instructor at CSI and also a former basketball student-athlete.
Montreal’s return to CSI in 2022 as Assistant Athletic Director paved the way for his new role. With a national search process yielding his selection, Montreal is set to lead CSI Athletics into the next chapter, building on the college’s storied tradition of success.
As Montreal prepares to take on the Athletic Director position, the CSI community and supporters are excited about the future of the program under his leadership. With his experience as a student-athlete, professional player, and administrator, Montreal’s appointment has generated positive anticipation for the continued growth and success of CSI Athletics.
