Tragedy struck in Logan, Utah on Friday evening when a 2-year-old girl fell into a canal and later died. The incident was reported to Logan police around 6:30 p.m. when the young girl went missing from her family near 100 W. 400 North. Within 20 minutes, officers found the unresponsive child in the canal nearby. Despite efforts to provide emergency medical aid, the girl did not survive and was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Her identity has not been released to the public at this time.
