Downtown Boise Road Closure Alerts: Plan Your Weekend Route Wisely

A portion of Interstate 84 between Meridian and Nampa is set to be closed for roadwork starting Friday, October 15th. The closures will affect both eastbound and westbound lanes of the interstate.

The Idaho Transportation Department has announced that the closures will allow for bridge maintenance and repairs to be carried out. Specifically, work will be done on the Meridian Road overpass and on the bridge over Ten Mile Creek. The closures are expected to last for 10 days, with the road reopening on Monday, October 25th.

During the closure, drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid delays. Detour signs will be in place to guide motorists around the closed section of the interstate. The ITD is also advising drivers to plan ahead and allow for extra travel time if their route includes the affected stretch of I-84.

This closure is part of ongoing efforts by the ITD to improve and maintain Idaho’s transportation infrastructure. By carrying out necessary maintenance and repairs, the department aims to ensure the safety and efficiency of the state’s roadways.

Drivers are reminded to obey all traffic signs and signals while traveling through the area and to use caution around construction zones. The ITD has also advised that additional closures may be necessary in the future as work continues on other bridges and overpasses along I-84.

For more information on the closure and updates on roadwork in the area, drivers can visit the Idaho Transportation Department’s website or follow them on social media.
