Top Game of the Week: Hillcrest kicks off Westmark Stadium’s inaugural game with victory in thrilling ‘Civil War’ matchup

Hillcrest High School secured their first win of the season in a dominant 46-28 victory over Bonneville High School in the Civil War rivalry game. This win marked Hillcrest’s 10th victory in the last 11 matchups between the two schools. The Knights celebrated their victory and the debut of their new on-campus Westmark Stadium, with a packed stadium and an overflow crowd that had spectators standing along the fence lines. Quarterback Tyson Sweetwood had a standout performance, scoring the Knights’ first touchdown at home and leading the team to victory. Receiver Jace Judy also had a stellar game, finishing with seven catches for 163 yards and three touchdowns. Hillcrest controlled the game, leading 39-15 going into the fourth quarter, despite a late kickoff return for a touchdown by Bonneville’s Keaton Trane. Coach Brennon Mossholder praised his team’s fast start and the atmosphere of the game, stating that playing a true home game on campus was a long-awaited moment. Hillcrest (1-1, 1-0) will face Thunder Ridge High School next Friday, while Bonneville (0-3, 0-1) will host Idaho Falls High School.
