Multiple people have been shot near a Kentucky highway Saturday night, leading to a shutdown of a section of Interstate 75. The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office labeled the incident as an active shooter situation and said that numerous people had been injured. The extent of injuries and the identity of any suspects was not immediately known. Governor Andy Beshear confirmed awareness of the situation and offered support. The U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives was also responding to assist local authorities. The search for the gunman was ongoing, and the investigation was still developing.
