The Idaho State Bengals dominated in a 50-10 victory over DII Western Oregon in the first game of quarterback Kobe Tracy’s full-time starting position. Tracy threw for 343 yards and four touchdowns, with receiver Ian Duarte leading the team in receptions, yards, and touchdowns. The Bengals’ offense clicked early, scoring on their second possession and adding 10 more points in the first quarter. The defense and special teams units also contributed with a blocked punt and a fumble return for touchdowns. Despite Tracy throwing a pair of interceptions, the Bengals’ positives far outweighed the negatives in the win. Placekicker Gabe Panikowski made all three of his field goal attempts, including a 51-yarder. Head coach Cody Hawkins will look for Tracy to be more protective of the ball in future games. The Bengals will face the North Dakota Fighting Hawks next week. For more sports stories, visit https://www.eastidahonews.com/.
