Boise Pro Soccer has won the bid to develop part of Expo Idaho into a state-of-the-art sports park that will house two professional soccer teams – a Division Three men’s team and a Division One women’s team. The stadium is set to become a home for these teams, and the project is part of the county’s master plan to transform the area by 2026. The project is phase two of the plan, with phase one being the creation of a public park. The park will offer various sports fields and a stadium for the soccer teams to play in. The bid of $150,000 for a 30-year lease was the only one received, making Boise Pro Soccer the sole bidder. This project is privately funded and is a result of high demand for soccer in the community. Co-founder Bill Taylor expressed his excitement for the project and the positive impact it will have on the community, especially on youth soccer players. Negotiations for the lease and development agreement are underway, with hopes of having professional soccer teams playing within the next two years. The development is hailed as a win for everyone involved and is expected to be a major entertainment destination in the northwest.
