After Missing Last Season, Ririe is Back in the State Tournament with a Team-Oriented Focus

The Ririe Bulldogs are heading back to the state tournament after a 49-40 victory over North Fremont in the 3A District 6 tournament final. The Bulldogs’ streak of 10 straight state tournament appearances was snapped last season, making this year’s return particularly sweet. Coach Jake Landon praised his team’s balance, with eight different players contributing points in the victory. Ririe showcased their versatility with a mix of inside scoring and 3-pointers, emphasizing their team-oriented approach to the game. The Bulldogs pulled away in the second quarter and maintained their lead throughout the game, earning a spot in the state tournament once again. North Fremont, last year’s state tournament runner-up, will have another chance to qualify through a play-in game on Saturday. Despite the loss, the Huskies were led by strong performances from Taylor Sessions and Grace Heiner. Ririe is now focused on making a strong showing at the state tournament, driven by their love for competition and desire to win.
