Missoula, MT – The Idaho Vandals bounced back with an impressive 63-50 victory over the Montana Lady Griz in a Big Sky conference matchup. After a tough loss to the Montana State Bobcats, the Vandals came out strong and dominated the game, with three players finishing in double figures. Hope Hassmann led the offensive charge with 20 points, followed by Olivia Nelson with 12 points, and Sarah Brans with 12 points as well. The Vandals’ defense was relentless, forcing fifteen turnovers by the Griz.

The win moves the Vandals to 1-1 in conference play and 9-4 overall, placing them fourth in the Big Sky standings. The team has a four-game home stretch coming up, starting with Sacramento State on Thursday, Jan. 9, followed by Portland State on Saturday, Jan. 11. Eastern Washington and a rematch with Montana are also on the schedule for the upcoming weeks.

The Vandals’ victory over the Lady Griz showcased their strength and determination on both ends of the court, setting the tone for upcoming games.
