Local news outlet EastIdahoNews.com has partnered with Ashley and Ashley Outlet of Idaho Falls to recognize community members for Feel Good Friday. Each week, someone deserving of special recognition is surprised with a special honor. Recently, they received an email about a man named Robert who goes above and beyond to create a memorable 4th of July celebration for his neighborhood in Blue Ridge near Skyline High School.
For the past five years, Robert has transformed a prime spot for watching the Melaleuca fireworks into a neighborhood gathering complete with music, snacks, and festive decorations. He sets up giant speakers, plays family-friendly music, and provides popcorn, Frosty’s, bottled water, American flags, and glow sticks for the kids. This year, around 400 people attended his “party,” enjoying the festivities he had prepared since 2 p.m. purely out of his love for the community.
Hearing about Robert’s efforts, EastIdahoNews.com decided to surprise him and thank him for his selfless dedication to making the 4th of July special for others. A video capturing the heartwarming moment was shared on their platform, showcasing Robert’s genuine joy in serving his community.
Through this partnership, EastIdahoNews.com and Ashley and Ashley Outlet aim to shine a light on the positive impact individuals like Robert have on their neighborhoods. The initiative celebrates the spirit of community and kindness, inspiring others to make a difference in their own way.
